Ho Chi Minh City organizes side events at the 56th World Economic Forum annual meeting in Davos to promote international cooperation in science, technology, and international finance.

On January 19th, a delegation from Ho Chi Minh City, led by Mr. Hoang Nguyen Dinh – Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, will begin its working visit to the 56th World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland.

Within the framework of the WEF Davos 2026 conference, the delegation will organize a series of important side activities aimed at strengthening dialogue, networking, and promoting international cooperation in the fields of innovation, science and technology, and digital transformation.

The series of events hosted by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee will take place from 10:00-13:30 (CET) on January 21, 2026, at the Seehof Davos Hotel, Promenade 159, CH-7260 Davos Dorf, Switzerland. It includes bilateral meetings (10:00–11:30); networking and business matching (10:00–11:30); and a working lunch (12:00–13:30).

During bilateral meetings, the Ho Chi Minh City delegation will work with a number of reputable international partners to exchange views on substantive cooperation directions, aligned with the city's long-term development priorities.

The Business Networking program focuses on promoting substantive connections between the business community, financial institutions, and innovation centers domestically and internationally in the finance and technology sector. Through this program, the city clearly conveys its commitment to promoting international cooperation, applying science and technology, and innovation to enhance competitiveness and international integration.

Networking and Business Matching: Promoting collaboration between Vietnamese and international technology, finance, and innovation centers on technology in the financial sector.

The main focus is the Working Lunch with the theme: “VIETNAM INTERNATIONAL FINANCIAL CENTER IN HO CHI MINH CITY: VISION AND INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES”. It will concentrate on introducing the vision and development strategy of the Vietnam International Financial Center in Ho Chi Minh City. It will create a space for policy dialogue between Government leaders, City leaders, and investors and strategic partners to exchange views on the investment environment, priority sectors, and development needs of the Vietnam International Financial Center in Ho Chi Minh City; discuss, receive feedback and recommendations on development directions suitable to the conditions of Ho Chi Minh City, thereby attracting and promoting cooperation and investment ideas in the future.

The luncheon focused on discussions about: capital markets; green finance; digital finance and digital technology; blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies; and new technologies and the development of new financial products.

The Working Luncheon serves as a high-level policy dialogue and investment networking forum, providing an opportunity for Ho Chi Minh City leaders to directly exchange views with international partners, financial institutions, investors, and major corporations on the development direction of Vietnam's International Financial Center, as well as strategic cooperation opportunities in the future.
