Attending the meeting were representatives from the leadership of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Industry and Trade, Finance, and Science and Technology, as well as the Government Office and the leadership of Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC).

The Autumn Economic Forum 2025 (the Forum) is scheduled to be held in HCMC from November 25-30 under the theme “Green Transition in the Digital Era”.

HCMC plans to invite over 300 international delegates and guests to the forum, including heads of state, government leaders, leaders of ministries and localities; representatives from international organizations and financial institutions, science, technology, and innovation centers; experts and policy researchers; and leaders from the world’s top corporations.

The forum aims to strengthen friendly relations between HCMC and foreign localities, thereby elevating the city’s foreign affairs and international cooperation efforts. It will also serve as a platform for exchanging and discussing orientations for building cooperative frameworks that serve the city’s development goals.

Furthermore, the forum seeks to create opportunities for the HCMC business community to connect, meet, and collaborate with international enterprises, experts, and organizations. It will also introduce and promote the image of HCMC as a dynamic, innovative, and friendly city, and a leading destination for international investors and tourists.

Highlighting the city’s priorities, the Deputy Prime Minister urged HCMC to leverage the Forum to boost international cooperation in urban management, smart transportation, and climate resilience.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son highly commended HCMC for its proactive coordination with central ministries and agencies in carrying out preparations according to the established schedule. He requested that the city continue to work with these bodies to review and finalize all arrangements concerning content, security, protocol, logistics, and communications, ensuring the Forum is conducted with the appropriate stature, solemnity, and success.

The Deputy Prime Minister directed HCMC to maintain close coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in inviting leaders from various countries, international organizations, and both domestic and foreign enterprises that are directly relevant to the forum’s theme. This should be done with the guiding principle of expanding the event’s scale and elevating its significance.

Stressing that the forum presents an excellent opportunity to promote cooperation with other nations, international organizations, and foreign enterprises, the Deputy Prime Minister advised HCMC to leverage the event to focus on strengthening international cooperation in its priority areas. These include urban management, smart transportation, climate change and sea-level rise response, and air pollution reduction.

HCMC will also continue its coordination with the World Economic Forum (WEF) to share experiences and expertise, with the goal of raising the Forum’s international profile in the years to come.

The Deputy Prime Minister mandated that all security, protocol, and logistical arrangements must convey solemnity and hospitality. He also required that information and communication efforts be conducted before, during, and after the event, involving the participation of both Vietnamese and foreign press agencies.
