In the “Financial Ecosystem – The Driving Force for Developing Key Economic Sectors of Ho Chi Minh City” session, Ms. Clara Shi, Vice President of Ant International and CEO of WorldFirst, delivered a keynote presentation on the pivotal role of digital connectivity, cross-border payments, and modern financial ecosystems in supporting the expansion of Viet Nam's development scale.

Opening her remarks, Ms. Clara Shi recognized Viet Nam as a high-potential market driven by four critical flows: the flow of people, the flow of trade, commercial corridors, and digital payments. Specifically, Viet Nam recorded 21 million international visitor arrivals, 7 million outbound travelers, a total merchandise trade turnover exceeding USD 930 billion (representing an 18% year-on-year increase), and an e-wallet penetration rate of 55.5%. These indicators demonstrate a substantial demand for flexible, secure, and globally connected payment solutions.

Ms. Clara Shi, Vice President of Ant International and CEO of WorldFirst delivered a keynote presentation on the pivotal role of digital connectivity, cross-border payments, and modern financial ecosystems in supporting the expansion of Viet Nam's development scale.
Against this backdrop, Ant International introduced its capabilities in connecting Viet Nam to the global stage through a network of 2 billion users, 150 million merchants, over 220 payment markets, and more than 300 payment methods dedicated to merchants and platforms. Specialized solutions such as the Unified Wallet Gateway, Unified Merchant Payment, and Unified Global Account were highlighted as instrumental tools enabling enterprises to scale up cross-border transactions more efficiently.

Notably, the presentation’s focus centered on supporting digitalization for growth, encompassing a global remittance network, real-time multi-currency settlement, AI-driven risk management, alongside ePOS and blockchain solutions. Ant International also shared its capacity to facilitate business scaling through integration with over 130 e-commerce marketplaces, a one-touch onboarding process, and embedded finance solutions developed in collaboration with local banks in Viet Nam.

Concluding her remarks, Ms. Clara Shi affirmed Ant International’s long-term commitment to Viet Nam since 2019, underscored by a workforce of over 300 personnel, of which more than 97% are local talent. Concurrently, Ant International proposed a collaboration with the Vietnam International Financial Center in Ho Chi Minh City (VIFC-HCM) under the "6T" sustainable development framework, which encompasses: Travel, Trade, Technology, Trust, Thrive, and Talent.

This content is part of the "Collaboration Days" program on the sidelines of the 17th Annual Meeting of the New Champions (AMNC 2026) of the World Economic Forum (WEF) held in Dalian, China.
