Digitizing the farm-to-table journey
As the agricultural sector shifts from a volume-based to a value-based approach, Agrichain emerges as a technological solution for origin transparency. Unlike traditional traceability methods that stop at production batch codes, this platform utilizes blockchain technology to record the entire cultivation process in real time. Everything from seed origin, fertilization schedules, and weather conditions to the harvest date and transportation is stored permanently and immutably.
Speaking at the launch, Nguyen Canh Thang, Chairman of Exabyte, emphasized that Agrichain was developed to address urgent challenges regarding cost and data management in a volatile market.
Mastering Layer 1 Blockchain infrastructure is a crucial step in ensuring autonomy and information security for the domestic agricultural sector, Thang affirmed. He noted that the solution is not merely a traceability app, but also aligns with the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 2815/QD-TTg and Resolution 57 on promoting national innovation.

Exabyte General Director Nguyen Hoang Nhat highlighted absolute reliability as the system's greatest advantage. With a simple QR code scan, consumers can access the product's complete "biography," including the grower's identity, location, and the exact time it left the farm. This transparency protects consumers and serves as a shield for exporters navigating strict technical barriers like the European Green Deal or the U.S. Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA).

Beyond serving as an "electronic diary," Agrichain integrates artificial intelligence (AI) to help farmers optimize production, Nhat added. The system can detect pests early and automatically adjust irrigation and fertilization schedules, potentially cutting input costs by 30-40%. This efficiency not only boosts yields but also directly increases farmers' incomes by enabling premium pricing based on verifiable certifications.
"More than a technical solution, Agrichain strives to build a value-sharing ecosystem among stakeholders. Scientists can access Big Data to improve farming techniques; businesses secure a stable supply to build their brands, and policymakers gain real-world data for market forecasting to avoid oversupply and price drops. This creates a sustainable supply chain where profits are shared fairly and food fraud risks are minimized," Nhat explained.
Following a record-breaking 2025 with agricultural exports exceeding $70 billion, the sector requires institutional and technological catalysts to increase surplus value, said Le Viet Binh, Deputy Chief of Office for the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (Southern Region). The Ministry consistently prioritizes policies that encourage tech firms to engage deeply in the digital ecosystem, paving the way for solutions like Agrichain to foster a transparent, responsible, and sustainable agricultural sector.

Praising the solution's practicality, Pham Phu Truong, Deputy Director of the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution in HCMC (HCMC C4IR), called Agrichain a testament to the "real people, real work" ethos of national digital transformation. He noted the platform meets industry needs while advancing the goal of making Vietnamese agricultural products a global symbol of trust.

The event culminated in an official activation ceremony, marking a significant milestone in applying advanced technology to agriculture. Exabyte executives were joined by state officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the HCMC Department of Food Safety, alongside representatives from HCMC C4IR, Sunwah Vietnam, the Global On-chain Economic Alliance, the Clean Agricultural Products Association, and Vinh Hiep Co., Ltd.
This moment highlighted the strategic collaboration between government agencies, international organizations, and the business community to drive comprehensive digital transformation.

During the event, Exabyte also signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Global On-chain Economic Alliance, officially becoming a member. By leveraging the Alliance's resources and technical standards, both parties committed to applying blockchain solutions to enhance data transparency and boost the global competitiveness of domestic products.

The $100 billion target and fundamental solutions for Vietnamese agriculture
"The agricultural sector can absolutely surpass the $100 billion export target by 2030 if fundamental green and digital transformation solutions are aggressively implemented. Technologies like blockchain are an inevitable approach to making the supply chain transparent, building market trust, and modernizing production. It is not just a storage tool, but a platform to elevate the value of Vietnamese agricultural products globally."
